Twinstar Guesthouse and Observatory is a unique motel-style B&B with an in-house astronomical observatory. Guests are offered a free undercover parking and a one-hour free Wi-Fi internet access. A complimentary guided "Night Sky Tour" is conducted from a private 4.5 metre fibre-glass observatory every night from 20:30 (weather permitting). The tour introduces visitors to star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, planets and the moon under dark rural skies with a large 46cm reflecting telescope. The tour takes only up to six people, allowing a plenty of viewing time for each person. The Guesthouse has three guest rooms with its own entrance off the veranda. Each room has a reverse cycle air-conditioner, toilet and shower, microwave, toaster, television, DVD, fridge and a queen bed. Continental breakfast is included in the tariff and placed in each room on the day before. The optional dinner is available with 24-hour advance booking required. Located on the New England Highway in Ballandean, 15 minutes drive from Stanthorpe and 40 minutes from Tenterfield, Twinstar Guesthouse and Observatory is an ideal base for visits to Girraween and Bald Rock National Parks.
