This is a well situated pub right in the heart of Coogee. 4 bar areas including a dedicated sports bar. The food is your standard pub grub (schnitzels, burgers, fried stuff). The beer selection isn't the best with only mainstream beers on tap. For the size of this pub I would expect there to be a greater selection. This could be a 5*, except for the waiting times on most days at all of the bars.
This is a good, but very busy, beachside pub. I'd go here for a drink with friends. You're definitely paying for the location. That said, the bar staff were very good and dealt with the busy bar without a problem. Great beer garden, couple of good bars, big screen for sporting events and decent pub food and drinks. Plenty if space here that fills up quick on Friday and Saturday nights and keeps on going into the early hours of the next morning. Worth a visit when travelling past.
No longer the rough pub full of drunken british yobbos. Had several refurbishments, upped the prices and added lots of security guards. So, it's very sophisticated now. The view of the sea is beautiful. Prices in the sports bar are much lower, and quicker to get served. Bands late Friday and Saturday night, but I avoid them because they are deafening. Just absurdly loud. The beer garden is very nice and has smoking and non-smoking areas. In winter they have lots of heating out there.
