Had a lovely stay at the Ibis on Swanston. Centrally located, near trains and trams. Easily accessible by car, car parking available (with a fee) Room was quite small but it was clean, the bed was pretty comfortable. No fridge in the room put a slight dampener on our plans but being so close to Melbourne central we had no problems wandering down to grab supplies. Staff were lovely and helpful.
Standard small room. Bed was comfortable but slightly too soft for my personal preference (I prefer a firm mattress). Check in process was easy and without hassle. Only inconvenience I've had is that there's only two power points in the whole room and none in the bathroom. Due to the configuration of my USB chargers I could only plug in one as it would cover access to the other power point. So if you have a lot of devices to charge / power bring a small power bar. Coffee and tea is provided in the room but it's instant coffee so just head down to the cafe in the lobby for a coffee. Regular coffee was $4 and a muffin was $4.80.
Great price & location. Rooms were nice, the bed was extremely comfortable!! Staff were friendly. My only complaints there was no bar fridge in the room & being there for 3 days we couldn't keep bottled water or milk cold & no power point in the bathroom. We also had the buffet breakfast in the wok restaurant which was a little disappointing for the price & the chef was yelling at the staff which made it feel quiet awkward for the customers.
