Try to go here about once a minth on a Sunday. Getting a bit like shopping centres now. Still some good bargains, if you have a keen eye. Good parking. The management is upgrading all the stalls & I hear all the rents are going up, so shop owners are leaving in droves. What a shame; they don't see the overall picture. Competition from shopping centres will keep people away, of coarse. Anyway, a good tourist trap.
Great markets, lots of different things at bargain prices. Food stalls, lots of different art stools, including pictures. Clothes stalls. We spent 2 hours here and did not get bored. Every stall seemed to offer something different. Plenty of places that sold coffee and food, mainly breakfasts. It is open Saturday and Sunday.
Lots and lots of stalls - apparently over 300. It was very quiet at 7.30 this morning (mid March - outside of tourist season). Busier now at 9.30 but not crowded. Lots of food and coffee options. Stalls are very varied. Some stalls are undercover and all are permanent structures (not gazebos). Had a very nice Tasmanian scallop pie for lunch. Yum.
