At the far north end of Keswick Island, Connie Bay is a secluded beach of sweeping white sand, turquoise water and fringing coral. Connie Bay boasts uninterrupted views towards the northern Whitsunday islands. The large tides bring uniqueness to the beach, and surrounding areas. The waters around Connie Bay are known for good diving, and great swimming at high tide. The beach is quite secluded, which has made it a favourable area for nesting turtles. And nearby the majestic melaleuca wood is a point of interest for many visitors, especially when the swarms of vibrant blue butterflies are in residence. Connie Bay can be accessed via boat, or on foot via Keswick Island walking trails. ...

We stayed for a fantastic week over Christmas 2017 in the beach house at Basil Bay. Lovely island with gorgeous beaches, several great snorkelling spots, kayaks, golf buggies and walks. We flew over from Mackay which was amazing. The snorkelling at Coral Gardens is awesome: Brett who manages the island said it's possibly the best coral in the world and actually you'd be hard pushed to disagree, my daughter and I were sceptical at such a claim but were thoroughly overwhelmed by the amazing variety of coral and fish, I even saw a turtle. Slight downsides were a) the proximity of the beach house to its neighbour who was playing loud music, not what you'd expect on an idyllic island - he was pretty annoyed when I asked him to turn it down but he did. B) it was very hot (not surprising for the time of year) but the ceiling fans weren't quite up to the job c) the insect screens didn't fully work so we got bitten in the evening. So a visit in the cooler months should be even better.

good anchorages for all wind directions in the Egremont passage. Beware the very strong tidal currents. running up to several knots. There is a little shop on Keswick island close to the jetty and airstrip, not sure when it is open. Besutiful coral bommies along the northern end of the passage of St Keswick next to anchorage and end of airstrip- when we were tjere it was too rough to snorkel the famous coral gardens on the southern end of the passage
