What a fantastic resort! My family and I stayed the weekend in the North Wing which was nice and quiet and had a great view of the surrounds. The grounds were maintained to a very high standard and attentive service was provided by staff at all times. It's great to have the patrolled surf beach available so close at the rear of the property.
To be honest, we popped in for a look as we had heard so much about it. What a stunning hotel with beautiful decor. Views of the ocean can be seen from inside and it's well located next to a shopping centre with the all important McDonalds for the kids and cafes for the parents. The mariner is across the road with waterfront restaurants. If you want some fresh fish n chips, there is a convenient store (Peters) close by.
Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast has some interesting information on why Australia is called the land down under?
Australia is known as 'the land Down Under' for its position in the southern hemisphere. The discovery of Australia began when European explorers searched for land under the continent of Asia. Before Australia was discovered, it was known as Terra Australis Incognita the unknown southern land.
