Nice place to stay. Close to everything but not too close to the hustle and bustle of surface paradise. The cost is a bit more that what I would normally pay but worth it. We stayed there a week, the surf was poor but the weather was great.
Spent a week here in a one bedroom apartment on the 19th floor and had a wonderful time. The apartment was lovely and quiet with everything we needed (okay, it didn't have an ice tray, but that's a small complaint). Never heard any noise from the rooms around us, despite encountering people in the halls. I was worried when we arrived just before 2 and were told the room wasn't ready yet, but dropped our bags off and before we'd finished lunch they'd called to let us know we were good to go. All staff that we encountered were absolutely lovely. My favourite thing by far was the pools. Having such large pools (and three!) meant it was easy to find a quiet area. I was there during a quiet time so never had any trouble with getting a seat. The area was always clean and I loved the BBQs up by the shallower one - must be great for families. The gym was basic but still great to use. I didn't mind it being tucked down the back of the property. I did get a massage at the spa, it was lovely but not as relaxing as I might have hoped, the walls were a bit thin so you could hear everything happening in the building. Getting a discount off the Sky Deck was great - especially off doing the Climb. I recommend that experience for everyone, it was absolutely wonderful. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and well maintained, all common areas clean. Would be delighted to spend another week here in the future.
We had a 3 bedroom sub penthouse on 71st of 74 floors. The place was beautiful with 270degree views for ever. Beds were uncomfortablely cheap considering the apartment...cutting costs in the wrong place. Had fabulous showers and bath, kitchen and pool table. Elevator was fast, staff were helpful. Outdoor pool was very cold as was indoor pool and it smelt discussing.
The views are spectacular, and the location is perfect. We had a lovely stay here, though the beds were a little uncomfortable and my mother had to go out and buy a new pillow because she couldnt handle the pillows at the hotel. The amenities are great: three pools -including two outdoor and one indoor lap pool- a spa, a gym, and a games room. It's great having four lifts, especially with the amount of people staying there. The staff were so great, we managed to have a room ready by 7:30am, which was amazing because it meant we had a place to rest for a little while after our flight before getting started with our day. Overall, we had a great stay here, thought the views and convenience were by far the highlight of the hotel.
Great place to stay. However, if you aren't staying, just head to the top and have a few drinks at SkyPoint Observation Deck. Views are on point. We stayed here and were impressed with the service, housekeeping and cleanliness. Location is perfect, with the ocean a minutes walk away and the other amazing venues only a stones throw. Facilities are excellent, 3 pools, gym and poolside restaurant. Yes, you can stay there, you have my permission.
Q1 Resort & Spa has some interesting information on why Australia is called the land down under?
Australia is known as 'the land Down Under' for its position in the southern hemisphere. The discovery of Australia began when European explorers searched for land under the continent of Asia. Before Australia was discovered, it was known as Terra Australis Incognita the unknown southern land.
