Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Daintree National Park, Tropical Research Station, Cape Tribulation, Queensland 4873 Australia

Your Cape Tribulation day tour commences with complimentary pick-ups from your Cairns, Northern Beaches or Port Douglas accommodation. If departing from Cairns and the beaches, it’s a scenic coastal drive up to Port Douglas. From there we head north amongst the sugar cane fields to our first stop, a short restroom break in the Mossman area.

Continuing our journey north we access the Cape Tribulation section of the World Heritage listed Daintree National Park, by first crossing the mighty Daintree River. This is done on the only operating cable ferry in tropical Australia.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Gondwana Rainforest, New South Wales and Queensland, Queensland Australia

Once we’re over the river, things really begin to change as we step into the wilderness. The road narrows and the rainforest towers over us as we enjoy the ever-increasing beauty of this 135-million-year-old ancient Gondwana Rainforest.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Walu Wugirriga Lookout, 164 Cape Tribulation Road, Cow Bay, Queensland 4873 Australia

The next stop on our Cape Tribulation day tour is at the Alexandra Range Lookout. Enjoy a birds-eye view of the Daintree River, Port Douglas, Snapper Island, Cape Kimberly and on a clear day, landmarks as far south as Cairns. This makes for some amazing photos, over the top of the low laying rainforest canopy.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Jindalba Boardwalk, LOT 439 Tulip Oak Rd, Cow Bay, Queensland 4873 Australia

After the lookout we experience the Marrdja or Jindalba Boardwalk. Here we see trees that have been caught in a time capsule; they haven’t changed in millions of years and we hope don’t change in millions more. As we travel through the ancient rainforest the Marrdja (which means Rainforest Walk in the local Aboriginal language) Boardwalk leads us over a complex mangrove swamp system. The root systems of these trees are quite striking and are an ingenious solution these plants have evolved over many, many years of living on the tidal edge. There are many points to stop and learn about the local flora and fauna on these walks and our experienced guides will give you an insight to the Daintree Rainforest, that will make you appreciate it for the amazing and unique system that it is.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Cape Tribulation Beach, Cape Tribulation, Queensland Australia

After the guided walk, we head straight to the Kulki Day use area, where we can access Cape Tribulation Beach and the picnic area next to the beach.

It’s time for a picnic lunch at Cape Tribulation Beach day use area (weather permitting). This is a unique feature of our Cape Tribulation day tour, as we are the only company dining on this stretch of coastline. Lunch is at approximately 12pm.

After lunch, take a walk on the stunning Cape Tribulation Beach which is where the ‘Rainforest meets the Reef’ and the only place on the planet that two World Heritage listed National Parks sit side by side, with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park on one side and the Daintree National Park on the other. You will have time to walk on the beach and also access the walk to the lookout on the Cape Tribulation headland. We then head back towards the Daintree River. If time is permitting, we’ll stop at the Daintree Ice-Cream Company to give you a chance to buy a tropical fruit ice-cream which is eaten on the bus. Keep an eye out for the local Cassowaries.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Daintree River, Daintree QLD 4873, Australia

Next stop is croc spotting time! Your Crocodile/Wildlife spotting cruise on the Daintree River takes us through the domain of the large saltwater crocodiles. Egrets wade near mangroves in the murky water of the river, as the crocodiles wait patiently for a meal. We look for pythons, tree snakes, butterflies and lots of other animal and plant life on this cruise. We also get a better understanding of the unique mangrove systems and their importance, not only to the rainforest, but to the Great Barrier Reef system as well.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Mossman Gorge, Daintree National Park, Queensland 4873 Australia

Afternoon tea is then served so we can have a ‘cuppa’ and a chat about the awesome things we have spotted on the river. Then we are off to the famous Mossman Gorge.

This clear mountain river cuts through thick rainforest and tumbles over boulders, on its journey toward the sea. Make sure you bring your bathers, as provided it is safe to do so (no flooding) you can go for a swim in the Gorge. NB: Your guide will asses conditions on the day and also supervise those of you that do decide to swim. Alternatively, you can relax to the soothing sound of running water and calling birds. The landscape is a combination of giant granite boulders and mossy rocks, with dragonflies and butterflies flitting in the light.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Rex Lookout, Wangetti Beach, Wangetti, Queensland 4877 Australia

Our last stop for the day is Rex Range lookout, where we stop to get some amazing pictures of our beautiful stretch of coastline known to the locals as ‘Great Barrier Reef Drive’.

Our Cape Tribulation day tour arrives back into Cairns at about 6.30pm. This is where we say good-bye and hope that you will come back and visit us again soon!

This tour is amazing!! We were hosted by Jeremy on the full day Cape Tribulation tour from Port Douglas. Jeremy's passion and knowledge of the area was evident from the very beginning. I felt that it was not just a sightseeing tour, but an educational one as well, learning all about the Daintree along the way. It includes pretty much everything you would want to see in the area- crocodile spotting along the Daintree River, Cape Tribulation Beach, a rainforest walk, Mossman Gorge, as well as a few little stops along the way, an ice-cream at Daintree Ice-Cream, and lunch on Cape Trib beach. We were treated like VIP's by Jeremy, our safety and comfort was his utmost priority the whole day. Be warned....it is a big day!! But well worth every minute. It is a day that will hold lifetime memories for my husband and I. Thank you Jeremy for an absolutely EPIC day!!

Do not overlook this company. My husband and I went on the tour from Port Douglas to Cape Tribulation, Mosman Gorge and Daintree today with Steve. The tour was fabulous, Steve picked us up on time, he was so knowledgeable of all the places we visited; the tour was spaced perfectly, we weren’t in the bus any longer than half an hour, small group of 10 people, morning tea of muffins and fish or steak with salad was cooked when we arrived by Lucy. We enjoyed a swim after lunch which was so nice and refreshing. The walks and Steve’s knowledge was outstanding. I highly recommend this company and tour, they sure go beyond to show you a great experience. Very good value. A must do.

A day trip not to be missed. Jeremy is a wealth of information and knows the area well. The trip was well planned and thoroughly enjoyable. Lunch was great and the added local fruits were a nice introduction to more exotic fruits. I highly recommend this trip, great host, great choice of stops and great value for money.

My girlfriend and I went on a tour today that was run by Jeremy - there were a few people in their 20s and a few in their 50s - which all seemed to enjoy themselves as much as ourselves. I would recommend this company to anybody looking to explore Daintree rainforest/Cape Tribulation/Learn a bit more about agriculture/fauna/flora or anything history related. It was very professionally run. The coach was comfortable and the tour guide - Jeremy -possessed a wealth of knowledge. He loved answering questions and during quiet moments of the tour - he would mix it up with a stream of information to keep you entertained and educated. Most importantly, his talks were all engaging and interesting; as opposed to being mundane/irrelevant/rambling - which I was worried about. Thanks for a great tour Jeremy and best of luck in the future. *Note - long day (with everything explained in the itinerary ticked off) . I personally wouldn't visit these areas without a guide - as it adds so much more depth to the experience and allows you to nap in the 10-12hr tour duration!

It's difficult to pin point just one part of the great experience on this tour. To start with our driver, tour guide and part owner was so informative, his knowledge was extremely extensive. Our tour included but not restricted to, the boat trip down the Barron River crocodile spotting, the various walks in different parts of rainforest areas, the Daintree Ice Cream Factory, lunch at Cape Tribulation and Mossman Gorge. It's basically a 12 hour tour, with enough walking and or swimming to give you a real appetite to see more. Highly recommended..

We knew when we booked that this would be a long day with lots of driving – and it was. However, we did get to see all the points of interest although there was little light left by the time we got to Rex Lookout. Jeremy was very passionate about the area, but we felt that some of the information was more geared to international travellers of whom there are none at the moment. We did get to see crocs sunning themselves by the Daintree River and to do a couple of walks. Some people went for a swim at Mossman Gorge but a paddle did us. The lunch was adequate but some butter for the roll would’ve been good.

Hotel pick-up in Cairns @7am started a great day, but very long as almost 7pm on return. Only 9 guests in total making for a covid friendly group. Jeremy was the perfect host. Very knowledgeable and provided continuous commentary as we travelled up to Cape Tribulation. He went out of his way to ensure we got to see tea harvesting, sugar harvesting and sights of interest along the trip. We had the provided lunch which was individually packed and consisted of fried chicken drumsticks, potato salad, green salad & a bread roll. Very tasty and plenty of it. Thanks for a great day.

We had a great day out with Jeremy who was very passionate about the Daintree Rainforest and also Cape Tribulation. We saw lots of crocodiles sunning themselves and the boat guide was very knowledgeable about them and their habitat. Picnic lunch in the forest on the edge of the beach was amazing. Loved that we had time to walk in the forest and on the beach. Ice cream was as good as promoted. The final stop at Mossman Gorge allowed those who wanted to a chance to swim in the waterhole. A long day but well worth it. Highly recommend this tour with Jeremy.
