Potoroo Palace is a delightful and friendly wildlife sanctuary located on the main Princes Highway and only a 10 minute drive from the Far South Coast's tourism hotspot, Merimbula. It showcases many of Australia's most iconic and threatened wildlife species amidst a peaceful and natural bushland setting.
Emphasis is on conservation and education, as well as community, and is run as a not-for-profit enterprise, dependent on public support through entry fees, donations and sponsorships. Educational Talks are complimentary and hosted twice daily by one of the keepers. For a more intimate experience, Animal Encounters are available also, but do need to be booked.
The Potoroo Train provides a fun way to circumnavigate the park, and the giant games boards, barbecues and picnic area are perfect additions for maximising enjoyment of the day.
